![]() Last year, the department launched online grocery shopping for SNAP recipients. This is the latest effort by the department to extend digital services to program recipients. Once installed, recipients will have to validate their identity and use the same username and password for the mobile app as they use for their web portal. ![]() Recipients can search for and download the ConnectEBT mobile app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, depending on the type of mobile device they are using and register their EBT card account. “Individuals can currently check some of this information online or by calling a customer service hotline and now the app provides another quick way for families enrolled in these programs to check balances, change their PIN and check receipt of new benefits at any time,” said Deputy Commissioner Elisa Neira. The app, developed by Conduent, Inc., is available in English and Spanish, and provides a safe and convenient way for SNAP and WFNJ recipients to view benefits and account information and access other customer service functions through their mobile devices. The ConnectEBT app is the official app for New Jersey’s SNAP and Work First New Jersey programs. “Making access to benefit information both easy and convenient, today’s announcement of the ConnectEBT app is one of a series of steps New Jersey is taking to ensure no individual or family relying on these programs misses out.” Coughlin, who sponsored a bill signed into law in September by Governor Murphy to provide SNAP recipients with mobile access to their SNAP benefits. “We know digital tools help overcome barriers to the accessibility of SNAP benefits and other critical food assistance,” said Assembly Speaker Craig J. Through this app they can check their balance on the go and will have other helpful information regarding their benefits at their fingertips” said Acting Commissioner Sarah Adelman. “This is another step to make SNAP and income assistance benefit information more accessible for NJ families. The mobile app is free and available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Recipients can use the app to check their balance, review up to 12 months of transaction history, confirm their last benefit deposit and change their PIN.
